Quote of the day....

Harry Smith : Is there a point in your life where you ever get tired of being controversial?

Madonna: I don't think it's me being controversial, I think other people like to get attention and they know they can get attention for themselves by mentioning my name. I think some people are kind of stuck on my name like a needle on a record and they just have to keep calling attention to something I've done and it works.

NBC Interview with Jane Pauley

I wonder what her answers will be now if she had an interviewer asking these stupid questions.  This is when Madonna was just starting to change her looks. It was the first of many to come and the woman couldnt get over her dressing like a street walker with her belly showing and fishnets; she was surprised by the vintage style. Love how Madonna carries herself in this interview.

Love the look. Love the accent. Love the attitude. This is my Madonna.

Her best acting in my opinion; when she is just being her plain ole self.

Madonna Samples...

Bye Bye Baby...

Contains a sample of the "Woo! Yeah!" from "Think (About It)" by Lyn Collins.

"Woo! Yeah!" is a drum break which includes James Brown's voice which has been repeatedly used in popular music, often in the form of a loop. It originates from the 1972 Lyn Collins recording "Think (About It)", a song written and produced by Brown, and is one of 5 breaks contained in the recording. In the original recording, the order in which Brown says the words is actually "Yeah! Woo!"; the order of the words was reversed later by sampling artists.

4 Minutes

The song ‘4 Minutes’, initially named "4 Minutes to Save the World", was produced by Madonna, Justin Timberlake and Timbaland for her 2008 album, ‘Hard Candy’.

In an interview with MTV, Madonna explained the meaning of the song:

“Well I don't think it's important to take it too literally. I think the song more than anything is about having a sense of urgency; about how we are you know, living on borrowed time essentially and people are becoming much more aware of the environment and how we're destroying the planet. We can't just keep distracting ourselves we do have to educate ourselves and wake up and do something about it. You know at the same time we don't want to be boring and serious and not have fun so it's kind of like well if we're going to save the planet can we have a good time while we are doing it?”

‘4 Minutes’ achieved worldwide success by reaching number one in twenty-one countries, including Australia, Canada, Germany, Italy, and the United Kingdom. In the United States, "4 Minutes" peaked at number three on the Billboard Hot 100, giving Madonna her 37th top-ten single, breaking the record previously held by Elvis Presley as the artist with most top-ten hits.

Madonna's First Magazine Cover(s)

The October 1983 issue of New York magazine "Island" is widely considered the first Madonna magazine cover ever, also thanks to the strenght of her iconic portrait by Curtis Knapp.

It is not common knowledge instead that the soon to be Queen of Pop previously appeared on another New York City publication, photographed by Peter Cunningham, as she made the front page of the November 27, 1982 issue of U.S. trade magazine Dance Music Report, which included her 12'' of "Everybody" in their "Brekouts" featurette.

JEAN PAUL GAULTIER TO DESIGN FOR ‘MDNA’ WORLD TOUR

Madonna‘s raunchy, super sexed up image from the ’90s was the handiwork of French designer Jean Paul Gaultier. Remember when she was sporting cone-shaped bras on her black corsets? It was a signature look and Gaultier was responsible for it. That fruitful partnership will be revisited, not only on Diet Coke bottles, but on her upcoming MDNA world tour!
The designer has confirmed that he will be working with Madge, as Gaultier’s wares will be featured on Madonna and her dancers. This certainly ups the “must see” factor of the tour, since his costumes are as much a part of the concert as the music itself.
According to Madonnarama, JPG spilled the fashion beans in a chat with fashion editor Melanie Rickey while promoting his new gig with Diet Coke in Paris. Gaultier reportedly said, “Well, yes. Yes I am,” when asked if he will be designing the MDNA costumes. It takes a talented designer to be able to design for Madge’s body and that of a Diet Coke bottle.
The designer and the diva previously collaborated on the Blond Ambition Tour, the Drowned World Tour, the Re-Invention Tour and the Confessions Tour. Clearly, the relationship is a successful one, so why not revisit it for another round? We can’t wait to see what sexy attire Gaultier dreamed up. Hopefully he listened to ‘Gang Bang’ and ‘Girl Gone Wild’ for some inspiration for his sketches.
The tour kicks off in Israel at the end of May.

‘MDNA’ To Have Biggest Second Week Drop In Billboard History?

Madonna‘s accomplishments this era have been disproportionately…top heavy.
Meaning her endeavors usually pull in record-breaking numbers their debuting week, only to completely lose steam and die-out in their following weeks. Take the No. 1 flop ‘Give Me All Your Luvin’ for example.  Continuing Madge’s latest pattern of see-sawed success comes ‘MDNA’‘s second week sales figures which are expected to set a new record as the largest 1st-to-2nd week drop in Billboard history.  According to Forbes, ‘MDNA’ is slated to pull in a approx. 46K in its second week dropping a whopping 88% from first week’s high of 359K. “Most of Madonna’s first week sales were CDs that were included in the sale of concert tickets. That promotion artificially inflated Madonna’s numbers, putting her first before Lionel Richie and his “Tuskegee” album. In the second week, Richie fell only 47% and sold about 110,000 albums–which is normal.” Wow, that’s a record we’re sure Lady Gaga isn’t hard pressed to top any time soon.
The question is — are you surprised? ‘MDNA’ had  a non-existent promotional campaign, received mixed reviews, and failed to produced a solid hit single for the 53 year old.
No use crying over spilled [sour] milk, bring on the tour!

J.Lo Shows Madge How to Slither On Walls is Done!

Last night, Jennifer Lopez premiered her racy new ‘Dance Again’ visual on ‘American Idol’.

J.Lo pretty much used the video to further validate her new relationship with 24-year-old dancer boyfriend Casper Smart. I stayed up real late to post the video, but went to bed there after. I was too tired to write a thorough review but now, I present you with my thoughts on the clip.
It’s becoming more evident that J.Lo’s blueprint is to introduce all of her new boyfriends by visual. Some people never learn eh?
Given her poor history with men, mixing business with pleasure is never a good idea, but if J.Lo wants to parade her newest prize catch to the world, who are we to berate her for it? The chemisry during their glittery dance break was hot, and you can actually tell they enjoy a very healthy sex life. J.Lo even has a steamy orgy and plays bondage games with her man.

Her body is absolutely, f*cking insane! 43-years-old, and two kids? Naw. People aren’t suppose to look like that at her age. Putting chicks half her age to shame and so forth. I’d like to know what fountain of youth she baths in because one can only hope they look like that when they get to her age.

Six years. Indeed, it’s been six long years since Nelly Furtado got ‘Loose’ with her most successful album yet.
The period following would see the ‘I’m Like A Bird’ singer take time out to embrace motherhood and release two Spanish albums.
Yet, Furtado is gearing up to launch a full-on chart assault with new single ‘Big Hoops (The Bigger The Better)’.
And so to as to drum up further buzz, the 33 year old as revealed the title of the track’s housing album, as well as its release date.
