As such, it’s both surprising and warming to see that the Hip-Hop titan has shared his love for Pop queen Madonna in the latest issue of Interview magazine. The outspoken star not only expressed his admiration for the diva, he deemed her “the greatest visual music artist that ever lived”.

“Madonna, I think, is the greatest visual musical artist that we’ve ever had.

If you look at her photo log, the photographers that she was able to work with throughout her career framed her in the proper way.

Is the media desperate to erase Janet Jackson from history?

It seems the media is desperate for Janet Jackson to quit the industry. Despite Janet and her team admitting on various occasions that a new album is in the pipeline, the media just refuses to acknowledge it.  Instead they repeat the same mantra: Janet has quit the industry, gone into hiding, converted to Islam and refuses to see her family – with gossip about her brothers begging for money and her suffering from severe OCD.

Janet told Billboard last month: “I am working on a new project now.” Soon after Miss Jackson was pictured at a writing session with producer Tommy Parker and Ian Cross, the A&R and Producer Engineer at Janet Jackson Music. Parker is also a writer/producer at Darkchild Records.  For some reason the media seems to have always resented Janet’s success in the 80?s and 90?s, when her rise started with “Control” they immediately claimed it was just because of her famous brother.  Then they started comparing her to Madonna and critics seemed to love explaining why Madonna did things better than Janet, despite Janet often scoring bigger chart successes than the ambitious blonde.

Still, the critics got their way, after 2004 and now take great pride in belittling Janet’s (in their eyes) lack of success. To some she is even seen as a “has been”. A very successful “has been”: her last album debuted at number one, and so did two of her recent movies.
Recently it has become clear that they are effectively trying to wipe her out of musical history. The fact that without her artists like Britney, Rihanna’s and Beyoncé’s would not exist is alien to them.

The Superbowl is always cited as the reason of her fall. But they forget: She played THE SUPERBOWL. There is a reason she performed at the Superbowl as she was one of the biggest female singers in history in music up until 2004. You can divide her career between the time leading up to the Superbowl and the time following it.But come on, people. Of course Janet’s decline had nothing to do with a “nip slip”. Yes, it was a “wardrobe malfunction” in front of a massive audience, but should it really be still be important 10 years after? Many female artists fell out of their dresses at public functions, even at kids award shows. And come to think of it, if a nip slip could cost you a career Madonna wouldn’t have had a career in the first place.


The only reason “Damita Jo”, that followed the incident, sold less, was due to lack of radio and MTV support and promo, which was due to her Superbowl performance. It was clear that the aftermath of this would be used to taint the singer ever since.  The second album following “Damita Jo”, “20 Y.O.” proved this, suffering again from lack of promo and continuing boycott of her music on radio and TV.  When “Discipline” came along they had to ease on the boycott a little and the result? Her 6th number 1 album, making her the only performer ever to have 6 albums debut at number 1.  Despite the media ignoring and ridiculing her, Janet Jackson still managed to sell millions and did a very successful tour. Still the media treat her like she’s nothing. They purposely ignore her.



For those that don’t realize, Janet Jackson is a true artist whom changed the music and music industry. Janet actually spent much more time at the top of Billboard Hot 100 then Madonna. Her longest chart score was “That’s The Way Love Goes” 8 weeks at the top of the chart, Madonna’s was “Take A Bow” 7 weeks.

Janet Jackson is the only artist EVER to have 7 Top 5 singles from one album “Rhythm Nation 1814? and biggest debut tour ever with 2.5 million tickets sold. She was also the first one who used hands-free microphone in 1986, only later adopted by Madonna.

Janet Jackson also won more American Music Awards then any other female artist and was named as the first MTV Icon in 2001.  She also had 3 #1 movies and one #1 bestselling book. She was the first artist with #1 singles in the 80's, 90's and 00's at the Billboard Hot 100.
Her dance routines are still “borrowed” by many new female singers – while Rihanna has based most of her image by recreating several of Janet’s looks reworked S&M style.
From Britney to Ciara, Janet Jackson inspired half the pop acts from the last decade and re-defined what it meant to be a female artists.  Still it looks like she will never truly be recognized for what she did. She said in her book 'True You' that for the last few years she suffered from racism in the industry, saying “doors that had opened for others were closed in my face, just because of the color of my skin." Today’s racism is more disguised and subtle. But it’s there – and it hurts on many levels.”  During the years before The Superbowl Janet and Madonna were seen as equal. But after the Superbowl Madonna suddenly pushed forward as the biggest female singer of the 80's and 90's. It was as if everyone had been waiting for Janet to slip up. Janet Jackson had paved the way for many, but everything that should be rightfully accredited to her (and in some instances Whitney Houston) now went to Madonna.  It has now gone to the point where Madonna might as well have been the only female singer in the 80's and 90's until Britney Spears, JLo (discovered by Janet) and Destiny’s Child came along.

Madonna Celebrates Mercy's Birthday

Madonna is spending some time with her loved ones following her controversial use of the N-word.

The 55-year-old singer, along with family and close friends, celebrated her daughter Mercy's 8th birthday on Saturday, Jan. 18, E! News can exclusively confirm. This sighting of the Material Girl came shortly after she apologized for using the racial slur accompanying an Instagram photo of her 13-year-old son, Rocco.

Madonna, her sons Rocco and David, her daughter Lourdes, a few adult supervisors, several nannies and about 15 of Mercy's friends enjoyed a private pizza party at Serafina restaurant in New York City.

"Mercy was clearly having a ball," an eyewitness dished about the adorable 8-year-old. "She was wearing a fancy little embellished dress with a white fur jacket. She and her friends were very giggly."

The group feasted on a variety of pies and Madonna treated herself to the restaurant's signature Tartufo Nero pizza, which has potatoes, robiola cheese and black truffles. Sounds absolutely delicious!

After eating birthday cake, Mercy stood next to her mother while she opened her presents and held them up so that the whole group could see the goodies.

"Mercy and her friends were especially giddy towards the end," the eyewitness added. "While waiting in line for the restroom they could be heard singing Miley Cyrus' ‘Wrecking Ball' at the top of their lungs. It was actually supercute."

I can’t tell a lie, I laughed at the “term of endearment toward my son who is white” part. Most moms use shit like “honey” or “sweetie” as a term of endearment, but ~cool momz~ use “#disnigga!” “Hood Madge” makes me actually long for the days of British Madge.

Now, I am certain that Madonna is aware of the slavery days and I am pretty much certain that she is aware what the original meaning of “nigger” means. I am also certain that Madonna knows who she is within the media and to other people around the world. However, due to her selling millions of records and being credited as an icon allows her to use the term “nigga”? I think not.

The fact that Madonna posted the hashtag, “#disnigga”, on Instagram alongside a picture of her son, bearing in mind she has adopted two black children is beyond a joke to me. Nigger within the slavery era was a word to define a black person that was a slave. Black people weren’t called by name, they weren’t classed as a “black girl” or a “black boy” they were defined as a nigger and they must do anything their master tells them to do, because they were a nigger. With that in mind, who does Madonna think she is posting that hashtag alongside the picture of her son? It’s not right and it’s not okay!

People are saying that the caption shouldn’t be blown out of context because it is now 2014 and slavery has passed. No, the “joke” should be blown out of context because; up to this day when a Caucasian person calls an African American person a nigger it is still a sensitive topic and a degrading term because black people are still frowned upon in today’s society. Racism is not dead, it is alive and kicking and the fact that Madonna thinks it’s okay for her to say the word freely is very ignorant of her. Yes, black people call fellow black people nigga, but that is another article for another day. Today, I am speaking about Madonna.

Yes, Madonna deleted the image and re-uploaded it with a new caption. However, she’s still very ignorant as her new caption included “stay off my dick haters”. Who is hating Madonna? If the public didn’t blow up your Instagram, you would have left the picture and caption up thinking its okay, when it is not!

For the fans that say, Madonna is the Queen of Pop, she can say what she wants. There is no record sales, no number of GRAMMY’s, no bank balance that can take away the true definition of “nigger” and what black people had to do be free from being claimed a “nigger” on a day to day basis. There is also no record sales, no number of awards and no bank balance that can allow anyone to call a black person a “nigger”. The fans that say that Madonna was right to use the hashtag “#disnigga” on her Instagram are as ignorant as her and need to take off their headphones from listening to her music and look at the real world! Racism still lives and I cannot stress enough how morally wrong it is for people to casually call black people “niggers”, it is wrong!

I would also like to know the meaning of “dirty soap” which is another term Madonna called her son, because that statement also seems degrading to black people also. Nonetheless, I am very angered at this ignorant movement by Madonna and I will not look at the Pop-star the same. I will gladly forgive Madonna, even though she is still very ignorant and cocky, but I will not forget this moment and neither should you, whether you’re African American or Caucasian. It was a disgusting comment and Madonna should be apologising to the public instead of telling people to “come off her dick”. I am finished here.

In recent years, Madonna‘s ‘controversial nature’ has leaned towards ‘altruistic’ territory- using her star power to defend the likes of Malala Yousafzai and Moscow’s ‘Pussy Riot.’

Unfortunately, in a move that some are already billing an attention-seeking ploy, the ‘Like a Prayer‘ performer has sparked controversy today, by using the ‘n word’ in a comment she left on Instagram minutes ago.

Why the digital community are up in arms this afternoon?  An unfortunate message below…

With a press release denying the icon is a racist and reinforcing her long-running ties to the African-American community imminent, we’re sure this foolish but conveniently timed remark will do very little to dent the icon’s public image.

That being said, there are many who find themselves repulsed by her decision to use ‘that word’, demanding answers we doubt anyone in her camp is currently prepared to answer.

Beyoncé & Madonna Expected To Blow Everyone Away With Surprise Performances At The Grammys?!

Madonna and Beyonce appear to have their eyes locked on the Grammy stage.

The pop superstars are expected to be among the big surprise moments during next week’s ceremony, according to two sources with knowledge of the plans.

Late last year Beyonce pulled off one of the best-kept secrets in recent music history when she stealthily released her self-titled album without as much as a hint.

The Grammys is where she will make her first televised performance in support of the project — which shattered iTunes records upon its release in December — according to a source with knowledge of the matter. 

Madonna, however, is expected to pop up and lend guest vocals during a performance from one of the night’s nominees, an additional source confirmed.

Longtime Grammy Awards show producer Ken Ehrlich said he “can’t confirm” an appearance from Beyonce during an interview with Pop & Hiss to preview the show. Ehrlich didn’t confirm or deny Madonna's involvement.

“Let’s put it this way … we have a really great history that goes back to the early days of Destiny’s Child,” Ehrlich added. “I love working with [Beyonce]. She’s incredible. She is so into what it is that she does and making sure that everybody who sees her walks away saying, ‘wow.’ ”

“Should she be on the show this year?” he continued. “I would think that the potential is there for that kind of moment.”

Other Grammy performers include Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr; Daft Punk with Nile Rodgers, Pharrell Williams and Stevie Wonder; Kendrick Lamar with Imagine Dragons; Lorde; Katy Perry; Pink and Fun’s Nate Ruess; Robin Thicke and Chicago; Macklemore & Ryan Lewis; Kacey Musgraves; John Legend; Taylor Swift; Keith Urban and Merle Haggard, Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson and Blake Shelton.

Reps for Madonna and Beyonce had yet to return requests for comment.

The Grammy telecast airs at 8 p.m. Eastern and Pacific time Jan. 26.

Funding Corruption?

Madonna will not give up on the folly of her involvement with the small African country of Malawi – or her passion for the cult like Kabbalah Center organization. According to the just filed Form 990 for her Ray of Light Foundation, Madonna transferred over $1 million in tax free money to Raising Malawi, the scandal plagued charity she started with Kabbalah to make in roads in Malawi.

The Ray of Light filing is interesting for a couple of reasons. In 2011, Madonna gave $750,000 to Kabbalah directly, and nothing to Raising Malawi. This time she gives nothing to Kabbalah, but the million dollars to Raising Malawi.

The organization has come under tons of criticism and has lost of millions of dollars, never fulfilling its promise to build a leadership academy in Malawi for young women a la Oprah’s school in South Africa. Two years ago several investigations were launched into Raising Malawi for financial improprieties. In 2012, Raising Malawi did help another organization, called BuildOn, construct classrooms in Malawi.

The only other donations from Ray of Light were a meager $15,000 to the TJ Martell Foundation, which funds cancer research, and pocket change– $5,000 to the Jewish Boys and Girls Club in Los Angeles. She also gave $5,000 to Ionia Inc, a rural recovery center in Arkansas that specializes in microbiotic cooking.

Madonna was named the top earning celebrity last year by Forbes.

The 'Gangster Squad' actor - who was married to the 'Material Girl' singer for four years from 1985 to 1989 - is founder of the J/P Haitian Relief Organisation and Ambassador-at-Large for the Caribbean country and he was delighted when his ex-wife decided to come to the country to help him with his efforts, something that didn't take much convincing.

Speaking at his Help Haiti Home benefit gala, Penn told E! Online: ''I don't know if I called her [Madonna] or if it was one time that we ran into each other but, I said, 'Would you like to come down [to Haiti]?'

''She said she would. She came down with her son Rocco and it was great to have them down there.''

Art For Freedom: Katy Perry to be Guest Curator for January

Madonna has confirmed Katy Perry as the first guest curator for Art for Freedom in 2014 for the month of January. Katy will collaborate with Madonna to select daily submissions to be showcased on artforfreedom.com. Since launching in September 2013, Art for Freedom has received over 3,000 submissions globally via artforfreedom.com and its social media platforms.

“Art can change the world, but first it needs to be seen and heard,” said Madonna. “Katy Perry and I are asking you to be that voice and show us how you define freedom in 2014. This will be a year of monumental changes for human rights, and we want you to be a part of that change. Let us hear from you.”

“I am so fortunate to have the freedom to express myself through music,” said Katy Perry. “Now I’m calling all of my incredibly creative KatyCats to use their talent to show Madonna and me how they express their freedom. I believe that 2014 can be a year of great social change. Together we can all stand up for Human Rights. Join the conversation, and let your art be your voice.”

As part of the Art For Freedom initiative, Katy Perry will work with Madonna to select one artist during the month of January whose creative expression demonstrates a unique view of the fight for human rights. Madonna will then award a $10,000 grant to a nonprofit organization of the winning artist’s choice. All projects must be focused on the values of Art For Freedom. David Blaine served as Art for Freedom’s guest curator for the month of December.

Launched in September 2013, Art For Freedom is a global digital initiative, led by Madonna in partnership with VICE Media, designed to fuel free speech – to respond, address and protest persecution and discrimination around the world. It is an online public art project encouraging people to express their personal meaning of freedom and revolution, in the form of video, music, poetry, and photography. Public submissions become part of the Art For Freedom website: contributors can join the project by uploading original artwork or tagging original posts #artforfreedom. The project was launched with the film secretprojectrevolution, co-directed by Madonna and Steven Klein.

Fresh Details Emerge From New Madonna Album

There’s no doubt about it, 2014 will see the release of a brand new Madonna album.

However, while the world may have already predicted this would be the case last year, it may not be aware of the new details that are emerging pertaining its sound and how its release will mark one of the last dealings she’ll have with Live Nation, under the contract she is presently tied to!  After the release of 2012′s ‘MDNA’, Madonna now stands just two more albums and two more tours away from bidding adieu to her current arrangement with ‘Live Nation‘, and -according to numerous reports- has until 2017 to fulfil said obligations.

So, with only three years left to make the above happen, the icon has now hit the studio to create her latest LP and has already birthed eight original songs set to feature on the forthcoming disk. This, months after a 2013 ‘Reddit’ session saw her share her desire to collaborate with ‘French house’ manufacturers, Daft Punk.




Hummm.....what do you think?  I'll take this a s rumor/wishful thinking for now. Time will tell.

When Madonna launched an outpost of her high-end fitness chain Hard Candy in the Aura condos at Yonge and Gerrard, one question loomed large in the minds of pop devotees: will Madge herself christen the space with her own blessed sweat droplets? The answer, it appears, is yes.

At the club’s grand opening on February 11, the superstar will personally lead a troupe of special club dancers—and a few lucky fans—through Addicted to Sweat, a cardio-dance class that incorporates choreography from her music videos and concerts. Toronto club members who think it would be awesome (and not just terrifying) to shimmy alongside her Madgesty can audition for spots in the class on January 30 from 7:30 to 10 p.m. and February 1 from 2 to 5 p.m.

Well, if a recent reunion with one of her favourite producers is indicative of anything, the answer to that question may be yes!  After being spotted at Los Angeles‘ LAX airport recently, Madonna and ‘Who’s That Girl’ producer Patrick Leonard have reportedly reunited to create a new album set for launch at the end of 2014.  The follow-up to 2012′s ‘MDNA’, numerous reports indicate that this new album will pull from ‘I’m Breathless‘, the album she recorded in support of her role 1990′s Dick Tracy, which saw her join Shep Pebbitone and Craig Kostich to create the iconic number that is...’Vogue.
