Madonna needs a helping hand as she hobbles out of restaurant with a cane after STILL suffering from a dance injury
For a strong and independent Material Girl such as Madonna, it must be irksome to move so slowly.
The 55-year-old pop star did her best to defy a foot injury - a bruised bone sustained while dancing in high heels over a week ago - as she hobbled to dinner at Matsuhisa in Beverly Hills on Wednesday.
Though the cane made her appear older, she tried to keep a youthful image in edgy clothes as she leaned on a female friend and a cane for support while leaving the sushi restaurant.
The eye-catching ensemble featured baggy black leather trousers and a cleavage-baring, low-cut black camisole top that her patterned scarf did little to conceal.
A black trench coat and spiked boots helped to give the star a rapper-cool look and she might have pulled it off if not for the walking stick.
Gingerly Madonna inched her way across the car park, no doubt thankful to have such a tall, sturdy pal - in high heels too - to assist her.
Opinion: Why Miley Cyrus Is Not The New Madonna
REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE
Before Miley Cyrus trespassed urban music culture, Madonna showed us how to stunt with a greater purpose in mind
In the space of one unicorn-suit twerk in March, Miley Cyrus morphed from countrified Hannah Montana into culture vulture of the century. Producers Mike WiLL Made It, Pharrell and Future—not to mention collaborators Big Sean, Ludacris and Nelly—ushered the reborn pop princess into the urban space in a fashion unseen since Timbaland first rolled out the black carpet for Justin Timberlake. But where white chicks touring a black space are concerned, one name still looms large over all the others. Miley’s just a lowercase m. Even in 2014, the Big M is still Madonna. When it came to pushing the mainstream’s buttons, Madonna went way beyond twerking; she used her headline-grabbing escapades as bait to school her followers, an archetype from which Ms. Miley could learn.
The 55-year-old icon hasn’t really made waves in the 21st century, despite record-breaking concert revenue (Forbes named her the highest-paid musician of 2013 for pulling in $125 million) and stabs at youthful relevance via Nicki Minaj and Kanye West collabos. But once upon a time, in the 1980s and ’90s, Michael Jackson, Prince and Madonna formed pop’s holy trinity. After Penthouse published her unauthorized nudie pics two years into her career, the Material Girl became a master at folding controversy into her marketing, effortlessly turning out pop classics at the same time.

Billy Joel makes a catty remark over Madonna's singing
He's certainly not the first male artist to take an unprovoked swipe at Madonna.
On Tuesday night, singer Billy Joel joined the likes of Elton John in giving the Queen of Pop a not-so-sly dig over her singing abilities.
The ageing rocker who was sat comfortably behind his piano, got out a vocal 'soothie' spray which he then used as a gag to joke about Madge.

Who asked him? Last night Billy Joel took an unprovoked swipe at Madonna's singing ability on stage at Madison Square Garden in New York
'I saw Madonna use this once... it didn't help her much,' he said, with much laughter erupting from the crowd.
No doubt when Madonna did use the spray, she was performing some of her more complicated choreography on stage, and not having a sit down.
The comments from 64-year-old Billy echo Elton John's, who has continuously jibed Madonna for supposedly miming on stage.
Perhaps missing the point of her energetic performances and slightly more challenging stage presence, Elton warned Madonna to 'lip synch good' when she performed at the Super Bowl.
However, the pair soon made up after the Queen of Pop graciously accepted Elton's apology.
In 2012, Madonna beat U2 as having the biggest selling tour with her hugely successful MDNA Tour, but has still come under fire for her singing, despite her incredible energy and choreography on stage.
Miley & Madonna
"I grew up listening to Madonna and a lot of what she represented for me is what I try to rep to girls now, is not being afraid of sexuality and really being who you want to be and doing what you want to do"

Madonna & Her Age
Being a huge Madonna fan since 1983, I have grown accustomed to the mind-boggling amount of hatred she gets. I expect it. But after the Grammys, and reading the insane amount of ageist remarks she gets about her age, I felt compelled to say something about this.
Yes, Madonna is 55 years old. We don’t need that pointed out, thanks. We know exactly how long she’s been around. But why is she continually pointed out for her age, or looks? I distinctly recall seeing Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr at the Grammys. And Stevie Wonder. And Steven Tyler. And Nile Rogers. Yet….. not a peep about any of them or their age. Why? As if the rampant ageism from little monsters these past few years hasn’t been bad enough.
Nobody bats an eye at Cher (who I love, by the way)- although Cher is far older than Madonna. Cher can release album after album, go on farewell tour after farewell tour, and give out awards in her “If I Could Turn Back Time” thong until the cows come home, and it’s fine and dandy. In 2009, we were lucky enough to catch the magnificent Tina Turner in concert. Tina rocked it, even at 70 YEARS OLD. She rocked her mini-skirts and fishnet hose, too. Yet….. not a peep about Tina being “too old”.
Blondie is touring again, and has a new album. Cyndi Lauper is older than Madonna. Bruce Springsteen is at least the same age- yet he gets a free pass. So does Prince. So does Mick Jagger. Tony Bennett. Yet, Madonna is either “too old”, “irrelevant”, “a mummy”, “Granny”….. I could go on and on here. What the fuck people?
Madonna is regularly crucified for every single thing she does. How she looks. What she’s wearing. She’s either wearing not enough clothes, or too many. Madonna could develop a cure for cancer, and she would just be trying to remain relevant. Whatever.
If you ask me- Madonna is far more “relevant” than Katy Perry, Rihanna, and Lady Gaga combined- because they all are students of Madonna 101. They are all a part of Madonna’s massive cultural impact and influence. All pop music today goes back to The Beatles, Michael Jackson, and Madonna. If Madonna were irrelevant, then her tours would FLOP. Nobody would care what she was doing and not buy expensive tickets to see her live. Yet, yet, they do. Lots of them. Her MDNA tour was the top-grossing tour of 2012, playing to over 3.5 million people worldwide. Her Super Bowl appearance drew in more viewers than Beyonce’s show. The 80’s are white-hot now, and why is Michael Jackson relevant, but not Madonna? When all pop tarts of today are trying to BE Madonna? If that’s not relevance, then I don’t know what is.
What is it about Madonna that draws out the sheer hatred in people? Why can other stars keep going, but not Madonna?
Miley Cyrus and Madonna to 'perform' for MTV Unplugged special
They are both controversial performers who like to shock their fans.
So it seems fitting that singer, Miley Cyrus, 21, should choose ballsy pop icon, Madonna, to perform alongside her as a surprise guest for her upcoming MTV Unplugged special.
E! News report that sources saw the two superstars on a Hollywood sound-stage on Monday, where they were rehearsing the collaboration.

Awesome...tears...ugh!
I was worried madonna was gonna embarrass herself at the grammys and i was gonna have to pretend not to know her for a few weeks but that was seriously so beautiful like im so proud to be a madonna fan right now
Thank you Ryan Lewis,Queen Latifa, Macklemore, and Madonna for allowing me to witness history being made.
Thank you Ryan Lewis,Queen Latifa, Macklemore, and Madonna for allowing me to witness history being made.
So happy about this. I mean, I get that Same Love is played all over the place and Macklemore isn’t the ideal champion for marriage rights, but a step in the right direction is a step no matter what. Thirty three couples. Also Madonna. And Mary Lambert. And this is beautiful.
Congrats to all the couples. gay, straight, asian, muslim, green, white, EVERYONE.

Madge Hits the Grammys Red Carpet With Her Son David
Madonna had a special date by her side on the Grammys red carpet: Her son David.
(We have a feeling she'll be more mindful of her hashtags tonight.)
The duo even coordinated outfits for their mother-son outing: "We're both working the Ralph Lauren angle," Madonna told Ryan Seacrest on Live From the Red Carpet. Spring 2014 Collection, to be exact.
And Madonna had an equally special stylist for the event. Because it was also David!
"For this look, I followed his lead. He dressed me tonight," the Material Girl revealed. "He wanted me to dress like him, so I obeyed him."
Madge accessorized the outfit with a cane (a result of a dance injury) and, of course, a grill.
"Yeah, I'm grillin'. It pisses everybody off when I wear my grill, so that's why I wear it," she said, before explaining that she wears a grill "when it matches my outfit. When I don't have to eat. Actually, I've learned to eat with my grill in.
No grills for David though. "She said she'd get me grills for this birthday," he protested, before Madonna got all maternal and chimed in, "I know, but we haven't had time. We have to go to the dentist to get a mold!"
Tonight, Madonna will take the stage with Macklemore and 34 couples will get married live on TV during their performance of "Same Love." "I wouldn't do any old song with any old artist, but I feel like history is going to be made tonight," she teased. "So I want to be part of that."
