Perfume Logo Attracts Lawsuit

Madonna’s new perfume is facing a lawsuit from an Australian artist who claims the packaging for the fragrance is copied from his trademarked logo.

The ‘Truth or Dare’ perfume was launched in New York last month, with the Queen of Pop herself putting in an appearance at Macy’s. But artist RJ Williams says the ‘M’ symbol on the perfume’s bottle and cardboard sleeve resembles his own artwork a little too closely – you can compare for yourself above.
Williams says he trademarked the logo last year, and has used it on clothing that he has sold for eight years now. He views the perfume logo as a breach of copyright. He told Australia’s The Sunday Telegraph:
“Friends from all over the world have been calling me upon seeing the Truth or Dare by Madonna campaign to express their disgust and support. It’s about my integrity as an artist. I do not think it should be able to be used by a giant cosmetics company.”
The artist adds that he has sent a legal letter to Madonna’s agent, Guy Oseary. In his correspondence, Williams requested that the star immediately stop infringing his copyright, and has asked to be provided with all profits made so far. He has suggested entering into a licence with him for future use of the symbol.

Do you think the two symbols are too close for comfort? Tell us in the comments!

Madonna’s ‘Truth Or Dare’ Perfume Ad Is Too Racy For TV

A few days ago Madonna released a commercial for her new fragrance called Truth or Dare. Today we learn that the Truth or Dare commercial has been deemed “too racy” for TV and must be edited if it’s to be aired on television here in the US. Feel free to roll your eyes at any time. In more positive news, Madonna has announced that she will return to Twitter to chat with fans next week. So you will get a chance to ask Madge how she feels about this new controversy. Woot!

For showing too much cleavage, Madonna’s perfume ad is banned from television. Her 30-second black and white commercial for Truth or Dare is deemed too racy by ABC that the network has ordered a revision or else they won’t air it. The 53-year-old singer wears a low-cut corset and fishnet stockings while singing and writhing to her dance song. ABC wants the ad digitally altered to cover shots of her body, particularly the corset that shows big area of her breasts and behind. “ABC also wants to cut another suggestive scene where Madonna writhes around,” a source told NY Post. Even after the changes, ABC will only air the commercial after 9 P.M. for older audience.

LOL! I’m sorry but this is complete bullshizz. There is no way that I find anything in this video “too racy” … certainly not “too racy” for daytime/primetime television. Sophia Vergara shows more cleavage than this on Modern Family (an ABC sitcom) and in herCover Girl commercials (which air all day, every day). I can’t help but think that this “controversy” is nothing more than faked PR. This commercial is terribly tame, especially by Madonna standards. I just cannot believe that anyone finds this clip at all “racy”.

Madge's Truth Or Dare Perfume Ad

Because the high-pitched fear screams from her boy toy lying in the crib cage next to her bed keeps her up at night, the only way Madonna can slip into a sleep coma is if she rests her head on a silk pillow case with a picture of what she loves most on it: HERSELF! That must have been the inspiration for her perfume ad, because bitch looks like she's taking a nap on herself.  The picture for this mess of an ad was taken from a spread she did for Interview Magazine last year. Aren't there anti-Photoshop laws now?

Shouldn't this ad look more like this:

New Deets On Madonna's Truth Or Dare Fragrance

New details have emerged about Madonna's debut fragrance Truth or Dare!
As we mentioned last month, the highly anticipated scent hits Macy's shelves on March 26th and you better believe there's going to be lots of advertising.

Instead of wasting money on a new photo shoot, Madge is reusing images from her 2010 Interview magazine spread shot by Mert & Marcus.  let's prey that they use some outtakes instead of the photos already published.

Pricing for the eau de parfum has also been revealed: 30ml $28, 50ml $39.00 and 75ml $55.

And apparently the fragrance is just the beginning for Truth or Dare. The line will eventually offer other products like bracelets, earrings, lingerie and even a special Dom Pérignon champagne bottle with custom made packaging.
Exciting!

Madonna Hires Male Models to Help Deliver Her Scent

Madonna is fully aware that yes, sex sells. The Material Girl had her new fragrance, Truth or Dare, hand delivered to beauty editors by two gorgeous male models. What better way to pep up a dull day? Making a lasting impression and whetting a few appetites in the process, Madonna had the two models greet Allure's Beauty News Editor, Heather Muir, with one dressed all in black and another in white.

"I have always been obsessed by fragrance," Madonna mused to WWD last month. "And for years I wanted to create something personal that was an expression of me but that other people could relate to as well. Something honest, and yet daring, hence the name Truth or Dare".  So what does this provocative scent smell like?

"A white floral that plays on dual forces: gardenia and tuberose," Madge revealed. The model dressed in white held tuberose and gardenia, which Madonna said was symbolic of her of her mother. The second model in Black held the striking white perfume bottle.
