Madonna Adds DJ Dahi & Blood Diamonds to Collaborators List

The diva posted an Instagram photo on Saturday (Sept. 20) of DJ Dahi and Blood Diamonds working behind a computer, with the caption, “Nothing can stop the Sex Boyzzzzzz!”  The list of collaborators for Madonna’s next album continues to grow.  DJ Dahi is the producer behind Drake’s "Worst Behavior,” and has worked with other artists like Kendrick Lamar and Lily Allen. Pop act Blood Diamonds (aka Mike Diamond) is a frequent collaborator with Grimes.
Madonna has also been working with super-producer Diplo, who has turned up in multiple photos on her Instagram account. In his Billboard magazine cover feature, Diplo said that he's had multiple studio sessions with Madonna that have resulted in at least three "amazing, smashes."
The diva's next as-yet untitled album will be released in 2015 on Interscope Records. Her last release, 2012's MDNA, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.
Based on a glance at Madonna’s Instagram feed, the set may also feature collaborations with Toby Gad, MoZella, S1, Ariel Rechtshaid, Avicii, Natalia Killsand Martin Kierszenbaum.

100 Best Singles of 1984: Pop's Greatest Year

From Prince to Madonna to Michael Jackson to Bruce Springsteen to Cyndi Lauper, 1984 was the peak of pop stardom. Here's the 100 best reasons why
From Prince to Madonna to Michael Jackson to Bruce Springsteen to Cyndi Lauper, 1984 was the year that pop stood tallest. New Wave, R&B, hip-hop, mascara'd hard rock and "Weird Al" Yankovic all crossed paths on the charts while a post-"Billie Jean" MTV brought them into your living room. In the spirit of this landmark year, here are the 100 best singles from the year pop popped. To be considered, the song had to be released in 1984 or have significant chart impact in 1984, and charted somewhere on the Billboard Hot 100.
71. Jellybean, “Sidewalk Talk”
Hot 100 Peak: Number 18
Madonna penned the first single to be credited to her then-boyfriend, New York DJ John “Jellybean” Benitez, and handled vocal duties on its chorus. (The breathy Catharine Buchanan, who passed away in 2001, sang the verses.) Similar in style to the ramped-up club music that made tracks like the Benitez-produced
“Holiday” early-Eighties radio staples, “Sidewalk Talk” distills the essence of New York — full of fast-moving possibility and flash, but to be handled with caution in order to be survived. M.J.
67. Madonna, “Like a Virgin”
Hot 100 Peak: Number One
If the hits from Madonna’s 1983 debut established her as a star, it was the title track from 1984’s Like a Virgin that vaulted her into icon status, rocketing to the top of the Hot 100 in its sixth week on the chart. Madonna has played up the ambiguity of the lyric, which has been interpreted in many ways (most famously and explicitly in Quentin Tarantino’s Reservoir Dogs), but the song was originally conceived by songwriter Billy Steinberg as a tender ballad inspired by a new love after a depressing heartbreak. It was Madonna herself, however, who suggested the title of the parody “Weird Al” Yankovic later recorded, “Like a Surgeon.” A.S.
2. Madonna, “Borderline”
Hot 100 Peak: Number 10
“I dared to believe this was going to be huge beyond belief, the biggest thing I’d ever had, after I heard ‘Borderline,'” Seymour Stein, the record man who signed Madonna, recalled. “The passion that she put into that song, I thought, there’s no stopping this girl.” His gut was right on target: The fifth and final single from Madonna’s 1983 debut album was her first to hit the Top 10. The melodic synth-a-palooza with the plunky low end was one of two on the LP penned by Reggie Lucas, who used a drum machine instead of a live drummer for the first time on the tune, doubling a synth bass with Anthony Jackson on electric bass guitar (“They’re playing so tight you can’t tell the difference,” Lucas said). Madonna turned in a sweetly-sung, restrained but emotional vocal (her voice wavers just so when she gets to “Feels like I’m going to lose my mind”) about a beau who has her heart twisted. The radio remix, which trims nearly three minutes from the tune, boasts one of Madge’s most iconic fade-outs, standing by as she “la la la”s into the void. C.G.

Madonna’s New Single Is Reportedly Almost Finished

Madonna is nearly ready to reassert her position on the throne.
The iconic #UnapologeticBitch has been teasing tons of alleged song titles and lyrics on her Instagram, taking selfies and hopping in the studio with seemingly dozens of talented acts, including DiploAviciiDisclosureand Natalia Kills among many others. (We’ve been feverishly rounding up all the latest on what to expect from the upcoming LP!)
Now, it seems the first taste of the MDNA follow-up is nearly upon us.
During an interview with Zane Lowe on BBC Radio 1 last night, this era’s most constant Madge collaborator Diplo spilled on the duo’s ongoing collaborations in the studio.
From PopJustice: “We did a bunch of stuff and I think she’s going to take about five or six of the songs we did. We wrapped up the first single last week, so we’re just fine-tuning the mix,” he casually offered.
While Billboard reports that the album isn’t due until 2015, there’s no reason why that lead single couldn’t drop, well…any day now. In a post-Beyoncé world, there’s just no telling what’s going to happen next.
Give us all your L-U-V today, Madge!

For the Record...La Isla Bonita

Release Date:
Hot 100 Chart Peak: 4

Surely one of Madonna’s most timeless tracks is “La Isla Bonita,” the gentle, dreamy recollection of utopian San Pedro. As a romance, it’s touching, and as a personal reflection, it’s beautiful.

The Spanish-flavored track seems to be a favorite of Madonna's, as it has been included on the setlists of many of her concert tours. She also performed it at the 2007 Live Earth benefit show in London. "La Isla Bonita" was the fifth and final single from her "True Blue" album, and the cut reached No. 4 on the Hot 100.

"La Isla Bonita" was released in February 1987 as the fifth single from True Blue. It was the first of Madonna's top 10 singles to incorporate a Latin feel. The song was first offered to Michael Jackson. Madonna worked with Patrick Leonard to re-write some of the lyrics and "La Isla Bonita" became another top 5 pop hit. The accompanying video included an appearance by actor Benicio del Toro.

I wouldn't interview Madonna if she begged me

In 2010 Bruce Forsyth appeared on the autobiography-interview show 'Piers Morgan's Life Stories' on ITV
Piers Morgan has reignited his ongoing feud with Madonna, insisting that she remains "banned" from all TV shows that he works on.

The Life Stories host said that the ban he placed on the US popstar from appearing on his CNN show was still in action on his British chat show.

"She's also banned from Life Stories," he told Digital Spy.

"If Madonna was in here now, naked, and begged me and offered herself on a plate, I would run a mile. And then I'd reinforce the ban for another 10 years."

He added: "If you're watching, [Madonna], you're not coming on. stop begging me."

Madonna: Has she teamed up with Apple's Siri for 'Unapologetic Bitch'?

Rumors are circulating that the singer's alleged new single - titled either 'Unapologetic Bitch' or 'Bitch, I'm Madonna' - samples Siri's voice. Siri is an artificial intelligence assistant found on Apple iPhone and iPad devices.

Madonna 'Unapologetic Bitch' in Siri.

The speculation was increased further when someone noticed that saying 'Unapologetic Bitch' into Siri swiftly loads Madonna's Wikipedia page, seemingly creating a link between the service and the superstar.

Searching Wikipedia online, 'Unapologetic Bitch' isn't mentioned on Madonna's main page, making the Siri search result even more curious.

What's more, while simply typing 'Unapologetic Bitch' into Google or Bing does bring up results relating to Madonna, the star's main Wikipedia page isn't even within the first 30 search results.
