Week Ending Feb. 12, 2012. Songs: Luv For Madonna

Just 10 days have passed since Madonna's Super Bowl performance, but it seems long ago. We've since absorbed the shock of Whitney Houston's death and the impact of Adele's coronation at the Grammys. "Give Me All Your Luvin'," which Madonna performed with guests Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. in her half-time show, jumps from #13 to #10 in its second week on the Hot 100. This is Madonna's first top 10 hit since "4 Minutes" (featuring Justin Timberlake) ended an 11-week run in June 2008.

This nearly four-year gap between top 10 hits is the longest dry spell of Madonna's career. Her previous longest gap between top 10 hits came between her James Bond theme "Die Another Day," which peaked at #8 in November 2002, and her dance hit "Hung Up," which peaked at #7 in December 2005.

"Give Me All Your Luvin'" is Madonna's 38th top 10 hit. This extends her lead as the artist with the most top 10 hits in the rock era, which began in 1955. Elvis Presley is in second place, with 36 top 10 hits. (Little-known fact: Elvis died on Madonna's 19th birthday: Aug. 16, 1977.) The Beatles are in third place with 34 top 10 hits.
While Madonna's last two top 10 hits have been collabos, she had no duet partners on her first 36 top 10 hits.

Madonna landed her first top 10 hit, "Borderline," nearly 28 years ago, in June 1984.

"Give Me All Your Luvin'" includes a reference to "Lucky Star," which in October 1984 became Madonna's first top five hit on the Hot 100. Many other artists have referred to previous hits in their work. The Beatles' 1967 hit "All You Need Is Love" references their 1964 smash "She Loves You." Sting's 1985 hit "Love Is The Seventh Wave" references The Police's 1983 classic "Every Breath You Take."
Two Madonna classics are listed on Hot Digital Songs in the first full week after her Super Bowl performance. Her 1989 smash "Like A Prayer" zooms from #112 to #38. Her 1990 smash "Vogue" re-enters at #160. "Prayer" has sold 690K digital copies. "Vogue" has sold 450K.

“Give me all your Luvin’” hits #13 on Billboard Hot100

Madonna makes her entrance at on this week’s Billboard Hot 100 songs chart just outside the top 10…
Madonna roars onto the Hot 100 at No. 13 with “Give Me All Your Luvin’,” featuring Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. The first single from Madonna’s 12th studio album, “MDNA,” due March 26, blasts onto Digital Songs at No. 7 (115,000) and Radio Songs at No. 28 (44 million).

Her Madgesty enjoyed a Super Bowl spotlight, having performed “Luvin’,” along with portions of her past smashes, at the big game’s halftime festivities. The track also received special attention from Clear Channel Media and Entertainment’s more than 50 monitored pop stations, which played it at the top of every hour from Friday at 9 a.m. ET until kickoff Sunday night.
“Luvin’ ” marks Madonna’s 56th Hot 100 appearance, tying her with Dionne Warwick for the second-most visits among women. Only the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin (73 entries), outdistances the Queen of Pop and Warwick in the category.

The No. 13 Hot 100 entrance of “Luvin’ ” ties 1992′s “Erotica” for Madonna’s fourth-highest. She arrived at loftier ranks only with “Ray of Light” (No. 5, 1998), “You’ll See” (No. 8, 1995) and “Frozen” (No. 8, 1998).

Even MORE Deets On Madonna's New Album!

We know, we know. Madonna news. You're about to sh*t yourselves!

So okay, the first thing we've heard is that 'TRUST' is opening the album — a strings and flutes song co-written by Sia and produced by William Orbit.

Now some fans are skeptical, saying Sia has confirmed her song didn't make it to the album, BUT other fans know that's probably just talk to keep us guessing.   What is the theme of the song? Anyone remember the Aidan situation for Sex and the City 2? Uhm ya, our thoughts exactly!

We've also found out there are four ballads on the album! Four! Get your kleenex ready!!

Oh! And guess who's doing the artwork for the album cover!! Giovanni Bianco!!! We know, ah-mazing!!

And we know all the club-hoppers want some remix news, so we've got some of that for ya too! Apparently Martin Solveig and Stuart Price have both done some remixing to Gimme All Your Luvin!!!!

Amazeballs!!! We are SO stoked about this! We're excited about Christmas, but damn, can it just be March already??? LOL!!!

Nicki Minaj & MIA Tribute Madonna In New Video

There isn’t long  to go till Madonna‘s ‘Gimme All Your Luvin’ video featuring Nicki Minaj and MIA makes it television debut.

So, in a bid to whet the appetites of their respective fan bases, today saw the surfacing of a snap taken from the video’s shoot which gives some indication of what the world can expect from the hotly anticipated clip.

Paying respect to the icon’s ever changing look, the pair can be seen rocking two distinctive looks from the performer’s career, with Nicki donning a blonde Madonna styled wig and MIA in a look similar to the one sported by Ciccone in her ‘Like A Virgin’ set, now almost thirty years back.

The trio are set to perform the track live at the Superbowl in little over a month. We want to know, though…

Madonna & M.I.A. Sing Happy Birthday To Nicki Minaj!

How many people in the world can say that!
Nicki Minaj was actually on the set of Madonna's new music video, Give Me All Your Love, when she got one year older, but that just meant that the Queen of Pop had something special planned for her.
Madge, along with M.I.A, who is also on the track, got the whole crew together to bring her a cake and sing Happy Birthday in joyful unison.
Check out the video (above) to hear for yourself!
Also, do you LOVE how much Nicki is a fan! Asking if someone got the picture of Madonna giving her a birthday kiss!
A BIRTHDAY KISS?! LUCKY!

Nicki Minaj On New Madonna Video: “She Kissed Me!”

Already one of the most anticipated comebacks in recent memory, Madonna‘s new project is generating heightened buzz today – thanks to a certain Nicki Minaj.
The Young Money maven shared details from the set of her Madgesty’s new video‘Give Me Your Love’ – which she features on.
Let’s just say, at 53, ol’ Madge isn’t toning down her racy antics. Details after the jump…
Writing on Twitter this morning, Minaj said:
OH MY f’ingggg Gahhhh!!!!! MADONNA jus kissed me!!!!! On the lips!!!!!!! It felt sooooo good. Soooo soft!!!! *passes out* aaahhhhh!!!!!!!!!
*kisses each one of my barbz so they too can taste queen madonna* I love u guys sooo much!!!! This video is of epic proportion! Love uuuu!!!
Yes! It was recorded!!! *hopes & prays this footage appears somewhere* lmaoooooooooooo
No barbz…like…seriously…it felt soooooooooo good!!!!!!! Sooooo soft! Like what?!?!?! bwahahahhahahahahahaha!!!!
I was shocked but kissed back!!!ahhh! > RT @MzBellaBarbie:@NICKIMINAJ how did u react when she kissed you? Shocked? Spazzed? Kissed back?
It was more romantic. Bwaha! > RT @ItsMarthaBitch:@NICKIMINAJ was it like the Madonna/Britney kiss or did y’all make your own HERstory?
Having built a career on “shock & awe”, we won’t be surprised if this “magic moment” finds its way into the final cut of the clip. That said, gotta love ol’ Madge. She may be over half a decade old, yet she stays selling her long-expired sex appeal. You’re only as old as you feel…I guess.

This just keeps getting better and better!
Reports are circling that Madonna's music video for Give Me All Your Love, the first single off of her upcoming album, will be directed by the French graphic arts and design collective Megaforce, probably most famous for their work on KiD CuDi's Pursuit Of Happiness music video!
Furthermore, the clip is set to be filmed in New York, will feature Nicki Minaj and M.I.A., and will feature 50 or more dancers!

It's Official! M.I.A. Is Jetting Off To NYC To Collaborate With Madonna AND Nicki Minaj!

We knew this was happening - but to have it in writing only makes us THAT much more excited!
After reports circling for weeks that Madonna would be working with both M.I.A. and Nicki Minaj on her upcoming studio album, the Sri Lankan rapper essentially confirmed it herself via Twitter only hours ago!
She writes:
summond to NYC by bitchesses > MADONNA and @NICKIMINAJ > cofffffiiiiiiieeeeeeeeee it iz a good day to get me tho trustttt bitches
Ahhhh!
As great a start as the demo for Give Me All Your Love was, we're thrilled to know that two such innovative and talented artists will be contributing to the glory that is Madge on her new material!
There is a reason she is QUEEN, after all!
And greatness awaits us in 2012!

HUGE Scoop On Madonna's Give Me All You Love Music Video!

ZOMG! The music video!!! We've been freaking out so much about just listening to the song that we totally forgot about the music video.
Our hearts may have stopped beating.
Word from those who love and adore the Queen of Pop most are hearing that Madonna is tentatively planned to start shooting the music video for Give Me All You Love at the beginning of December in New York City! Where else!
We're hearing specifically, it could happen on December 5-7 and we're told that she won't be alone. The plan is supposedly to have both Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. in the video as well!
Yep, yep. We're dead. We died. This insanely exceptional news was too much for us. There is only one thing left to do before we go…
SO. MANY. EXCLAMATION POINTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nicola Roberts Takes Dig At Madonna's New Single For Ripping Off Hers!

Uh-oh! The claws are coming out!

Many were delighted yesterday when an alleged demo of the newMadonna single, Give Me All Your Love, found its way onto the net, but Nicola Roberts was apparently not one of them, as she - and many fans - are lashing out at the pop icon, for essentially ripping off the cheerleader-style chorus from her debut solo single, Beat Of My Drum!
It all came to a head when bandmate Cheryl Cole wrote her via Twitter:
@NicolaRoberts Imitation is the biggest form of flattery!
To which she responded:
@CherylCole Copy-catting has never flattered me..
OUCH! Sounds like gurlfriend is not messing around!
For now, let's just keep in mind that the Madge demo is just that - a demo! Who knows what kind of changes it will go through until the final version is ready for our ears?!
We said it yesterday, it could still definitely use some work!
What do U think?? Did Madonna rip off Nicola??

New FULL Song: ‘Give Me All Your Love’

The full version of Madonna‘s new joint, set for inclusion on her forthcoming February 2012 album, has made its way online (sans Nicki Minaj andM.I.A.).

What are you waiting for?

While word has it that Minaj and M.I.A.’s inclusion on the record will be for its live unveiling only, it still would’ve been interesting to see what they brought to its official version.  Because while we never fault Madge for trying to keep up with the young’ns, there are aspects of this song that sound like a marriage between an Atari video game’s music and something Avril Lavigne threw away.

“Give Me All Your Love” (demo) is a complete regression from the dance-pop/electro greatness Madonna pursued and mastered on 2005′s ‘Confessions On A Dance Floor’“Give Me” comes off as a watered down bonus track from an early 00′s Kylie Minogue CD, not to mention the shrill quality of Madonna’s thin vocals are a complete turn off. It in no way represents a song worthy to lead a new era from the unchallenged Queen of Pop. On the [only] bright side, Lady Gaga can breath a sigh of relief as no wigs will be snatched with this release. Not. A. One.

The throwback to early 80s Madge will certainly be appreciated by her core fans, but appealing to today’s record buying public is going to  require the Material Girl to go back to the drawing board for better material.  Either way, only time will tell if this is her way of testing the waters or if it is full indication of what’s to be expected on the next album.  Hopefully, it is the former and not the latter.

What do you think?
