I'll Remember...1984

Madonna in 1984 at age 26. This interview was done just before she released ‘Like A Virgin’ so she was still a newbie to the music scene and on the brink on international super stardom. This woman has NOT changed. Madonna’s still articulate, intelligent, confident, stylish, brutally honest, cutting edge, assertive, determined, with balls of steel. She knew exactly what she wanted and has accomplished everything she set her mind to. 30 years later she’s still the reigning Queen of Pop. I lover her earlier interviews, I always felt like she was flirting with them using body language. Nowadays she just condescends them. There will never be another Madonna. Love this chick!

9 Ways Madonna And Miley Are Kind Of The Same Person

When Madonna took the stage to perform a mash-up of "Don't Tell Me" and "We Can't Stop" with Miley Cyrus during the young pop star'sepisode of "Unplugged," a few similarities between the two jumped to mind — aside from their matching cowgirl outfits and protruding tongues.
"I grew up listening to Madonna and a lot of what she represented for me is what I try to represent to girls now," Cyrus told MTV News. "Not being afraid of sexuality and really being who you want to be and doing what you want to do. And that's what 'Don't Tell Me' is about....I feel like 'We Can't Stop' is kind of the 2013 version of 'Don't Tell Me.' "

And, in a lot of ways, Miley Cyrus is the 2013 version of Madonna. Granted, Cyrus has a long way to go before she reaches Madge's icon status, but she certainly does seem to share some of the Queen of Pop's DNA.  MTV News breaks down their shared traits below...

Miley Cyrus and Madonna to 'perform' for MTV Unplugged special

They are both controversial performers who like to shock their fans.
So it seems fitting that singer, Miley Cyrus, 21, should choose ballsy pop icon, Madonna, to perform alongside her as a surprise guest for her upcoming MTV Unplugged special.
E! News report that sources saw the two superstars on a Hollywood sound-stage on Monday, where they were rehearsing the collaboration.

A New Madonna Song? 'Back of the Bus'

This morning, MTV talked about what is known in the Madonna camp as the "Secret Project."The civil rights project was supposed to be unveiled a couple weeks back, but Madonna has delayed it. According to MTV and CNN, the project involves Steven Klein, a new song, a new video, and a call to action by her fans.

Madonna shot the video for her secret project last December and recorded a new song that deals with feminist power earlier this year. The name of the song was tentatively titled "Back of the Bus," but that could change in the final version. It is said to be one of the most powerful ballads Madonna has haver come up with. It compares the struggle women face around the world with the Civil Rights Movement of the 1950s.
Madonna has always been an outspoken advocate for women's rights as well as gay rights. In the 1980s, when gay men were dropping like flies because of AIDS, Madonna preached tolerance through her albums, videos, and concert performances. She risked her career by defending the gay community, but gave them a much needed voice at a time when even our own president, Ronald Reagan, was homophobic.
Madonna has a special place in her heart for empowering young women. In 1989, she released the song "Express Yourself," which became an anthem for women's rights. It also became the subject of plagiarism when Lady Gaga completely copied the song note-for-note and used the same vocal style.
There is no official date for the release of Madonna's latest work. But we are sure it will be worth the wait.

MTV: Madonna Lacks Substance

From toting fake guns to exposing herself onstage, pop icon's MDNA Tour has run into criticism at every turn.
Madonna can't catch a break. Pop music's queen again finds herself in a flood of bad press after fans at an intimate show at Paris' l'Olympia club booed and chanted "refund!" when the music icon's performance ended after just 45 minutes. While this latest fiasco seems to be rooted in misunderstanding — "She has done a handful of club dates in the past and they were never more than 45 minutes," according to her rep — Madonna has run straight into controversy at every turn on her MDNA Tour.
