Sean Penn thanks Madonna for coming to Haiti

The 'Gangster Squad' actor - who was married to the 'Material Girl' singer for four years from 1985 to 1989 - is founder of the J/P Haitian Relief Organisation and Ambassador-at-Large for the Caribbean country and he was delighted when his ex-wife decided to come to the country to help him with his efforts, something that didn't take much convincing.

Speaking at his Help Haiti Home benefit gala, Penn told E! Online: ''I don't know if I called her [Madonna] or if it was one time that we ran into each other but, I said, 'Would you like to come down [to Haiti]?'

''She said she would. She came down with her son Rocco and it was great to have them down there.''

Madonna Asked Her Former Husbands For Directing Tips

When directing her new film W.E. Madonna leaned on two very important men in her life for support; Guy Ritchie and Sean Penn.

Madge says:"I watched closely what both Sean and Guy did. With Sean, I saw the importance of rehearsal and preparing and doing as much work as you can ahead of being on set.

Guy is a much more visual director and he takes a lot of chances and risks when it comes to camera moves and things like that. And I learned a lot from him in that respect."

She seriously learned from the best so this movie better be awesome!
LOL of course it will be. It is magical Madge, after all.  Thank goodness she's still on friendly terms with her exes. It makes us feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
