Madonna: Stop Giving Her a Bum Deal

So she bares her bottom on stage. What a shame her critics don't get her message.
When Madonna got her bum out on stage in Rome in June, I was delighted. I don't know why anyone complained. Have you seen the footage? It's pure, old-fashioned, summer entertainment. It proves that however powerful the forces of cultural change, however hi-tech and diversified our "infotainment streams", and however tastes may wax and wane, there is still nothing funnier than seeing someone's trousers fall down in public.
In the clip, Madonna (singing Human Nature) turns her back on the crowd. Suddenly, artfully, the pinstripe trousers slip down to knee height, revealing fishnet underwear. It's a marvellous 21st-century take on Kenneth Connor. If they ever remake Carry On Girls, Madonna absolutely must play Mayor Bumble.
The thing is, I'm sure she meant it to be funny. In the original video for this song, back in 1995, there was a bondage scene where she licked a chihuahua. (That isn't a euphemism.) It was definitely a joke.
That original video is quite amusing. Its title, Human Nature, suggests quite strongly that she is trying to make a point.
A couple of weeks before Bumgate, performing the same song in Istanbul, Madonna pulled her bra down and popped out a nipple. I found that less funny. But Madonna is a gutsy, fifty-something, Italian-American Catholic doing a particular kind of comedy: a European-style, circus-style, commedia dell'arte sort of performance, clowning and dancing and flashing to satirise repression. I'm English; I laugh at trousers falling down, but tut at nipple.

Madonna: Stands Up for Gay Rights

Never afraid to back away from controversy, pop diva Madonna spoke up for gay rights and against a local law which forbids homosexual ‘propaganda’, during her concert in St. Petersburg on Thursday.
Madonna called on the audience to "show your love and appreciation to the gay community".
Words "No Fear" were seen written on the singer’s back as she performed on the stage in black lingerie.
"Do we live in fear?" Madonna asked the crowd of fans at the show. "No!" was the answer.
Madonna kept her promise to stand up for gay rights in St. Petersburg and the law adopted by the city’s government in March. The law imposes fines for “pernicious homosexual propaganda” that affects “the moral and spiritual development of minors”.
And the singer also made sure the audience knew she was supporting the members of the feminist punk band Pussy Riot. Madonna rushed to defend the three girls, who may be jailed for three years for their anti-Putin "punk prayer" at Moscow’s main cathedral.

Ke$ha: New Album News

New Album Will Feature Guitars And More Of Ke$ha’s Real Voice, Says Dr. Luke

Are we getting an acoustic album from Ke$ha? Not exactly. But in a new interview with Billboard, hitmaker Dr. Luke dishes about the sound of her upcoming sophomore effort (following 2010′s Animal and the EP Cannibal) and says we can expect guitars and more in the way of actual singing from K-Dolla. (Wait, does that mean the vocals in “Blow” were processed?!) Read more below.

Already we’ve gleaned that the new LP will contain somewhat ominous-sounding tracks like “Supernatural,” “Die Young,” “Last Goodbye,” and “Crazy Kids,” and collaborations with Iggy Pop and members of The Flaming Lips and The Black Keys. Given that information, perhaps it’s no surprise we’ll hear a bit less synth and a bit more strumming this time around.

“You’re going to hear her voice more,”  Dr. Luke of the forthcoming album. “She asked for less production tricks and stuff like that this time. There are more guitars on the record now, too; on [Animal] Ke$ha was the one who told me, ‘Under no circumstance will I have any guitars on the record.’ That wasn’t really my call. So we made those without guitars. This record we’re allowed to use a little guitar.”

But fear not, fans who like their favorite beard-eater as $leazy as po$$ible: “You’re going to hear an artist that’s grown and is evolving, but it’s Ke$ha,” Dr. Luke says. “She’s no choir girl yet.”

Hey, as long as she still name-drops serial killers and uses whiskey as mouthwash, we’re all for it.

Elton John: Madonna looks like a stripper...

SIR Elton John has reignited his long-standing feud with Madonna by branding her a “f****** fairground stripper” whose “career is over”.

The sharp-tongued Rocket Man blasted his chart foe on Australian TV and is furious that she keeps laying into his pal Lady Gaga – who is godmother to his son Zachary.  Madonna has repeatedly taken swipes at her young pop rival over her hit Born This Way, which has often been compared to the singer’s 1989 single Express Yourself.

Rihanna: "Oprah's Next Chapter"

Though her long-running talk show may have ended last year, Oprah Winfrey is still nabbing big names to interview for her talk show "Oprah's Next Chapter."

On August 19th, the 58-year-old's guest will be R&B star Rihanna. The 24-year-old hitmaker will show the Chicago native around her hometown in Barbados.

Showing how much of a fan she is, Oprah excitedly tweeted a photo of her and her interviewee smiling, exclaiming, "Look who's driving me around Barbados!" The "Umbrella" singer posted the same photo with, "Look who popped up in my Hometown BARBADOS #topnotch."
The in-depth interview will be the first for the pair. After the 2009 Grammy assault of the star by Chris Brown, Oprah dedicated an episode of her talk show to domestic violence. Her message was, " If you go back with a man who hits you, it's because you don't think you're worthy of being with a man who won't. I've said before, 'Love doesn't hurt, and if a man hits you once, he will hit you again.' "

After recent rumors that the Rihanna has been seeing her attacker again, the powerhouse host is bound to inquire

I'll Remember...1990

Ahhh...memories. If you were young/old enough to remember this epic moment in tv history, please share.  This was so exciting at the time to watch. I was 13 years old and I could not wait to see this spectacle.  I will never forget watching the it with my brother and the 'Like a Virgin' bed scene came on.  YIKES - we thought we would be in BIG trouble because it was so sexual and we knew our parents were watching it on the tv upstairs.

I live in Canada and at the time we did not have HBO and get a chance to watch this performance from Nice, France.  Instead we got to watch her performance from Barcelona, Spain a month later.  She had really frizzy hair, lol.  The August 1 show in Barcelona, Spain was taped and aired on television in Europe, Australia and Canada by SACIS-RAI. This show is known by fans for numerous technical mistakes (including Madonna forgetting part of the lyrics to "Sooner or Later" and "Material Girl," getting her monocle caught on her headset microphone at the beginning of "Express Yourself", and not realizing that her headset microphone was still live as she exited the stage after "Where's the Party," resulting in her command at a backstage crew member to "get the fuck out of my fuckin' way"). MTV: Madonna Lacks Substance

From toting fake guns to exposing herself onstage, pop icon's MDNA Tour has run into criticism at every turn.
Madonna can't catch a break. Pop music's queen again finds herself in a flood of bad press after fans at an intimate show at Paris' l'Olympia club booed and chanted "refund!" when the music icon's performance ended after just 45 minutes. While this latest fiasco seems to be rooted in misunderstanding — "She has done a handful of club dates in the past and they were never more than 45 minutes," according to her rep — Madonna has run straight into controversy at every turn on her MDNA Tour.

Madonna's Truth Or Dare Shoe Line Is A BIG Hit!

Madonna has had some top hits in her time, such as: Like a Virgin,Material Girl and Lucky Star, so it's not surprising that her new HIT as a designer is taking off as well!
The songstress' shoe collection, Truth or Dare, made it's way over toSelfridges in the UK earlier this month, and it's already selling out!
Department store manager Helen Attwood said of the overwhelming demand:
"It's been thrilling to see our customers' response to this project - the Truth Or Dare collection has proven to be our most commercially successful footwear pop-up this year so far. It's one of the most successful celebrity endorsements we've ever worked on."
Attwood added the store already had to re-order half of the styles because they can't keep them stocked, with the bestsellers being the thePanu studded court shoe and the Cedia brogue in black.
Madonna certainly has a shoe designing talent, and we can only hope that her brother's footwear collection will be just as fab!

Madonna GoesTo The Circus

CIRCUS ACT photo | MadonnaAfter all the craziness going on with Madonna these days, we're glad the Queen had time to kick back and relax!
The pop icon was spotted attending a performance of Cantina, a vaudeville circus show at the Southbank Centre in London alongside her boytoy, Brahim Zaibat, and 15 other members of her entourage!
According to witnesses:
“She spent a lot of time engrossed in conversation with her friends about key bits of the show.”
Oh! She must have really liked what she saw then!
Perhaps we'll be seeing some vaudeville-influenced material on her next tour!
Either way, it must have been a welcome relief to have some downtime with her gentleman friend amidst the business of MDNA!
Hope you guys a good time!

MADONNA FEAT. FAR EAST MOVEMENT – TURN UP THE RADIO (REMIX)
Pop queen Madonna‘s ‘Turn Up the Radio’ may have not made many moves on charts since its debut in recent weeks, but the addition of group Far East Movement may change that.  One of four remixes set to be available for download on August 5, this version of the track is making its rounds on the web days in advance.
As the Material Girl’s ‘MDNA World Tour’ sees her selling out stadiums across the globe, Laidback Luke has lent his hand at remixing the third single from her 12th studio LP ‘MDNA’.

Why Can't Madge have Kylie's Creative Team?!

Madonna may be “the queen of reinvention”, but her style is anything but evolved, according to rival singer Kylie Minogue’s stylist, William Baker.
As her stylist and “gay husband” of 17 years, Baker has been responsible for Kylie’s own high (hit-or-miss) wardrobe turnover rate. He claims that she has transcended a fashion threshold that Madonna hasn’t yet managed — a style that ages gracefully.
“Kylie’s gone high fashion”, he states.
Has she?

Liz Rosenberg has released the following statement about the controversy that sparkled from Madonna's intimate gig at the Olympia:

"Madonna's Paris club show was planned as her heartfelt thank you to France which she expressed at the start of her show. Despite a grueling concert tour, she desperately wanted to perform for her fans in an intimate setting at the historic Olympia as a means to honor her love for French artists, French cinema and a tribute to France's long history of welcoming and inspiring artists, authors, painters, poets and minorities from other countries over the years.

The show was not billed as her full MDNA concert and tremendous effort was made to keep the ticket prices reasonable ($100 for 2000 floor seats) and keep them strictly for her fans.

The show cost Madonna close to a million dollars to produce. She has done a handful of club dates in the past and they were never more than 45 minutes. And by the way, she put on a fabulous show which was streamed for millions of fans around the world."

Why Is Madonna Being Such An Asshole Lately?

You may have noticed that Madonna has been in fine form lately – at least when it comes to acting like an insufferable, disrespectful asshole. The pop singer has somehow shifted from years of creating and releasing genre-bending, though-provoking music that empowered a generation of young girls to searching for the best way to aimlessly push everyone’s buttons. And to what end? What can Madonna possibly have to gain from purposeful nip slips and slapping swastika’s on people’s foreheads? Her recent actions while on tour supporting MDNA have raised questions about whether there’s a difference between being cutting edge and just throwing tantrums just to get attention.

Madonna explains 'MDNA' swastika sequence: 'It's about intolerance'

Marine Le Pen/swastika image on Madonna's world tour in Tel Aviv, Israel

Madonna has explained a segment of her 'MDNA' stage show which incorporates a swastika and other controversial imagery.

The singer attracted attention for the sequence, where the Nazi iconography was superimposed on the face of National Front leader Marine Le Pen, when it was first aired in Israel.

It was later suggested that the right wing party may sue Madonna after she repeated the broadcast during her show in Paris.

Asked by Brazilian network Globo what the whole sequence was about, Madonna said: "The intolerance that we human beings have for one another.

"And how much we judge people before knowing them. That's why it's done in the song 'Nobody Knows Me'."

TURN IT UP!!!

Watch Madonna's new video ''Turn Up The Radio'' (Explicit) from MDNA album
Her Madgesty's new song just hit Billboard's "Dance/Club" chart!
This isn't a huge deal for Madonna, considering this is the 60TH TIME she's made the list, but we're still proud!

Turn Up the Radio debuted on the ranking at #39 — but if the song makes it to #1, it will be gurlfriend's 43nd track to swing to the top spot.  It may take a while for the queen to grab the tippy-top ranking. Right now, Katy Perry's Wide Awake has a strong well-devereved hold of #1, and J.Lo's Goin' In is making a steady climb up.

It's gonna be a battle of the divas!!
