Madonna’s corset sold for $52,000
Madonna’s conical-bra corset sold for $52,000 at a London auction last Thursday. The Jean Paul Gaultier-designed stage costume was sold moments after a whip used by Harrison Ford, though auctioneer Christie’s International made no connection between the two in a “Pop Culture” auction at its South Kensington salesroom. Madonna wore Gaultier’s green-and-white corset for the 1990 “Blond Ambition” tour while performing three songs, including “Now I’m Following You.”
Its formal estimate was £10,000 to £15,000 at hammer prices and it made £32,450 with fees. It was bought by a bidder in the room, acting for an undisclosed London collector. Supplies of pop and movie memorabilia have declined in recent years as studios have become aware of their commercial potential, boosting the rarity value of items that do make their way onto the market, said dealers. A black Lycra two-piece labeled “Trashy” that Madonna wore to perform “Vogue” had an upper estimate of 12,000 pounds and fetched £16,250.

Madonna Top GQ's 25 Least Influential People of 2012 List
Any magazine can do a year-end list of influential people who have accomplished far more than most of us ever will. But only GQ possesses the iron testicles to count down the twenty-five least significant men and women of 2012—a collection of people so uninspiring that we should round them all up and stick them on an iceberg. Please note that these folks are ranked in no particular order, because all zeros are created equal.
3. MADONNA
That cheerleading outfit isn't making you look any younger, Madge. It's time for you to stop putting out aggressively bland comeback albums and make room for Ke$ha and Katy and the other 800 female artists out there who change outfits every five minutes to distract people from their terrible singing.

Rihanna Racks Up 12th #1 Single, Ties Madonna
That Rihanna reign will not…let…up.
Indeed, the “singer” – after 6 previous attempts – has earned her first #1 album with‘Unapologetic’ – her 7th studio effort released this week. And, while her faithful Navy rejoice at the news, her record label home Def Jam just gave them more reason to celebrate…
The charts are expected to reflect the announcement upon their refreshment at the week’s end.
Rihanna’s newest accomplishment sees her surpass late legendary pop iconWhitney Houston‘s 11 #1s and now tie Queen of Pop Madonna‘s 12 #1s (for female artists). If Riri notches a 13th, she will technically (if Diana Ross’s accomplishments are excluded) be the female with the second-most reigns atop the singles chart – second only to Mariah Carey.
The feat comes less than a year after it was announced Rihanna broke another of Madge’s record - most top 10s in shortest amount of time.
Sigh…what is the world coming to?

Shake Your Head (Let's Go To Bed)
Madonna recorded lead vocal with Don and David for the Was (Not Was) album Born to Laugh at Tornadoes produced in Detroit in 1982–83. The released vocal were by Ozzy Osbourne with backing vocals by Kathy Kosins and Carol Hall. Madonna and John "Jellybean" Benitez are both in the album credits. During a May 2006 Kathy Kosins phone interview with Bruce Baron it was revealed that Ozzy recorded his vocal first. Kathy and Carol added vocals in Detroit. Kathy's vocals were intended to be replaced by Madonna by producer Don Was. Madonna's label Sire Records did not agree to the release and Kathy's vocals were restored for the ZE Records release as a backing track.
Kathy then became a longtime Was (not Was) contributor.
Madonna originally became involved via her friendship with Stephen Bray and his group The Breakfast Club who were also signed with ZE Records (later acquired by MCA). Madonna requested her original vocal not to be used in an early 1990s remix released as a single in Europe to support a Was (Not Was) Greatest Hits album. Kim Basinger did the new vocals. The '90s remix version with Madonna's vocals leaked onto the internet in April 2008.

Fashion Face-Off: Lady Gaga vs. Madonna in a...
So, this happened.
Words suddenly fail us.
All we know is that Madonna and Lady Gaga are criss-crossing the globe in fishnet tights that may or may not cover all of their titanium-hard super-glutes.
We punt the question to you:
Whose ass wore fishnets best onstage?

I'll Remember...1987
In November 1987, Warner Bros. Records commissioned the release of You Can Dance—Madonna's first retrospective—which was aimed at the dance segment of her audience It was an album containing seven of Madonna's songs in remixed format, which was still a revolutionary concept in the 1980s. By the mid-eighties, post-disco dance music was extremely popular and the concept of remix was widely regarded as a new direction of music. Several artists were remixing their tracks and compiling them to create new albums. Mixing was an interpretative process, where the artist was usually involved, but the development was generally looked after the record producer. The different parts of a song, including the lead vocals, background vocals, guitars, bass, synths, drum machine—all went through the process of mixing to sound considerably different from their original counterpart. Mixing determined how loud these instruments were going to sound in relation to each other and what particular sound effects should be added to each instrument. Improvements in studio technologies meant the possibility of shaping the sound of a song in any way, after it has been recorded. The arrangements were it created at the mixing stage, rather than being created previously. A particular vocal phrase could be endlessly copied, repeated, chopped up, transposed up and down in pitch and give them more echo, reverberation, treble or bass.
It was this concept, which intrigued Madonna, while she was developing her third studio album True Blue (1986). She said, "I hate it when people do master mixes of my records. I don't want to hear my songs changed like that. I don't know that I like it, people screwing with my records. The jury is out on it for me. But the fans like it, and really, this one was for the fans, for the kids in the clubs who wanted to hear these songs in a fresh new way." She went to Warner with the idea of releasing her songs by remixing them in a complete dance tune. From Warner's point of view, the rise of remix was a commercial boon, because it meant making more money out of the same piece of music. Instead of paying Madonna to go to studio and record different tracks, they found that allowing her to record the same tracks in different formats was much less costly. Hence they decided to release the album, but gave full freedom to Madonna to choose the producers with whom she wanted to develop the remixes.

Possessive Love
Written and recorded with Patrick Leonard, Madonna and Jai Winding. Madonna's original demo was given to singer Marilyn Martin for her to record. The song was included on her 1988 album "This Is Serious". The song was also released as a single by Atlantic Records in 1988 but did not do very well.

28 Years of Like A Virgin
"Like a Virgin" was written by Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly. In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Steinberg explained that the song was not only not written for Madonna, it was not even written for a female singer but was inspired by his personal experiences.
I wasn't just trying to get that racy word virgin in a lyric. I was saying ... that I may not really be a virgin – I've been battered romantically and emotionally like many people – but I'm starting a new relationship and it just feels so good, it's healing all the wounds and making me feel like I've never done this before, because it's so much deeper and more profound than anything I've ever felt.
Kelly recorded the demo, and invited Michael Ostin of Warner Bros. Records' A&R department to his house to listen to it. Steinberg and Kelly played four or five tunes for Ostin, and further discussed "Like a Virgin" – they were not sure for which artist the song would be suitable. Due to meet with Madonna the next day to discuss her sophomore album, Ostin intended on playing the demo to her, believing the lyrics and the groove of the song were perfect for Madonna. "When I played it for Madonna she went crazy, and knew instantly it was a song for her and that she could make a great record out of it," Ostin recalled. In 2009, Rolling Stone interviewer Austin Scaggs asked Madonna what her first impressions were after listening to the demos of "Like a Virgin" and "Material Girl". Madonna replied:
I liked them both because they were ironic and provocative at the same time but also unlike me. I am not a materialistic person, and I certainly wasn't a virgin, and, by the way, how can you be like a virgin? I liked the play on words, I thought they were clever. They're so geeky, they're cool. I never realised they would become my signature songs, especially the second one.

Poor ticket sales in Latin Ameria Force Lady Gaga to use Madonna's Stage
It seems Lady Gaga is having so much trouble selling tickets to her ‘Born This Way Ball’ tour in Latin America that her concert promoter Live Nation has forced her to use Madonna’s MDNA stage in order to cut costs. Paws Down Little Monsters has pictures of Gaga’s stage in Mexico City and you can see that the structure of the stage looks virtually identical to the one built for Madonna.
This may be what Madonna was referring to when she said one day very soon they would share a stage. Ouch.
Paws Down says Live Nation found a clever way to cut costs of her underperforming show, “Instead of shipping the whole stage structure for Gaga (which is costly), [Live Nation] only transported the regular stage (the one that is small enough to be built in arenas, smaller than a basket ball court) and built it underneath the MDNA tour structure.”
Additionally, Lady Gaga’s tour promoter in Brazil, Riachuelo has confirmed they are offering a ‘Buy One Get One Free’ deal for her upcoming show in São Paulo. Anyone who purchases a ticket for the show will receive one free ticket. The show will be held at Morumbi Stadium on November 11th. This coincides with other deep discounts in the region, including Groupon deals allowing customers up to 96% off original retail prices.
The question remains to be seen whether or not Lady Gaga will use the MDNA stage for all of her Latin American shows.
This is still not being reported by the mainstream news. And why not?

Madonna Booed In New Orleans For Endorsing Obama
Madonna is making sure to leave each concert with a (not-so-great) memory.
After recently taking a spill while on stage in Dallas, the controversial singer drew some boos from the crowd in New Orleans last night after she began praising President Barack Obama.
"Who's registered to vote," she asked concertgoers, and then followed with, "I don't care who you vote for as long as you vote for Obama."
After the crowd took issue with her remarks—in the form of boos—the Material Girl went on to say, "Seriously, I don't care who you vote for. Do not take this privilege for granted. Go vote."
Last time Madonna mentioned Obama, and made headlines about it, was when she told a crowd in Washington D.C., "So, you all better vote for f--kin' Obama, OK? For better or for worse, all right, we have a black Muslim in the White House!"
She has such a way with words.

I'll Remember...2001
The Funny Song (Oh Dear Daddy)
Madonna performed a live version of this song as part of her 2001 Drowned World Tour set list, calling it her "brand new song". Madonna recorded a studio version in preparation for the tour, along with the rest of the set list. Whilst most of the other studio recorded set-list songs have been made available online, the studio version of this song remains unleaked. The track is also listed in the Warner/Chappell Music database with Madonna again credited as sole composer.

Madonna’s Daughter Takes A Summer Job…
Folding Underwear!
Think that all children of rich and famous individuals are spoiled brats? Then here's some news you're sure to find refreshing. Madonna's teenage daughter Lourdes spent her school vacation just like a lot of other high schoolers out there: She was busy toiling away at a summer job. Take that, Rich Kids of Instagram!
Sure, it was a gig working for her superstar mom. But aside from getting the job itself, no special treatment was involved. As she explained on her blog Wednesday, the 16-year-old found herself discovering "the joys of folding underwear" while working in the wardrobe department for Madonna's MDNA World Tour.
Lola--who decided to try her hand at a summer job for the age-old teenage reason "all my friends" were doing it--admitted that her work was "a little unconventional" but still a good experience and lots of fun.
As anyone who's seen a Madonna show can imagine, there's no time for goofing off when one is responsible for such a major production's costumes. "Being in the wardrobe department meant me and a few other girls dressed the dancers during the show when they had quick changes," Lola explained. "Thirty seconds to totally dress a sweaty dancer can be insane and provoke mucho anxiety. Doing this night after night was pretty cray, but I loved every minute of it!"
Lola also noted that she enjoyed creating relationships with other departments on the tour crew. "To be able to be a part of such an inspiring production was one of my best summers so far."
Like any other teenager, however, she ended her blog entry lamenting the start of the school year; adding a personalized playlist to help fellow "slothlike" teens out there get moving in the morning.
Madonna's girl isn't the first famous teen to wade into a low-man-on-the-totem-pole gig in the name of experience. Courtney Love's daughter by the late Kurt Cobain, Frances Bean Cobain, famously served as an intern for Rolling Stone in 2008--where she probably didn't fold underwear, but likely performed the usual duties such as lunch orders and coffee brewing.

Madonna Slammed For ‘Distasteful’ Malala Yousafazi Tribute
So, in what marks a strange twist in this tragic story, ‘Ray Of Light‘ icon Madonna has ‘honored’ Malala with a strip tease carried out during Wednesday’s showing of her ‘MDNA Tour’ in LA. An act, which has now been billed as distasteful. In response to the strip tease, users of social networking site Twitter took to the medium to weigh in.
I respect that Madonna supports Malala but a striptease in support of a girl who supports education is so irrelevant. twitter.com/HibahAqsa/stat…— Hibah M.Rafiq (@HibahAqsa) October 13, 2012

Madonna is one product of the American mentality of “Support it by stripping”. Anything is somehow related to your junk. #Absurd #Malala— Afaf Super-Nobody (@SalvagedEyes) October 13, 2012
So what do you think?
In the clip, she actually spoke a pretty heart-felt speech about the girl and about how lucky we are to live in a country where we’re free to express ourselves. The very same reason she was shot! You guys can criticize her all you want but at least she’s taking a stand… And guess who else she’s pissing off more than any of you guys by making this bold statement in the way that she did… The very same people that shot this girl for speaking out in what she believes in… The Taliban!
